Fair Lawn Police Officer Tiller Uriarte stopped the white BMW driven by Christopher Granados as he had been driving in the wrong direction of Saddle River Road and Morlot without a front tire around 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, police said in a news release.
Officers noticed several heroin envelopes and other drug paraphernalia on the passenger seat. Granados was unable to perform field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest.
He was found to be in possession of 8 uncapped hypodermic syringes, 14 empty heroin glassines, 1 crack pipe, and 11 heroin envelopes.
Granados was charged with possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic needle, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence, driving while suspended, vehicle in unsafe condition, and operating a motor vehicle while in possession of CDS.
After being charged he was turned over to a responsible adult.
Records show this is far from Granados' first traffic violation. The NJ Courts website shows he has 11 pages of violations dating back to 2008. In June, he was charged with careless driving in Burlington Township, and was charged with burglary in three Morris County towns in 2020.
In 2019, Granados was charged with DUI and failure to possess a valid driver's license in Irvington.
